Hurricane Helene dumped historic amounts of rain in the mountains of North Carolina. As a group that has experienced the loss and devastation that a hurricane can bring, we decided to gather a group to provide assistance. Although major organizations do assist communities in recovery efforts, it is often the work of small groups that fill in the gaps, and provide where others might not be able to locate.
We are going to partner with our sister church, Guthrie Grove located in Pelzer, SC, and together reach out to the areas of need in North Carolina. We currently have a handful church members and a few others heading east.
Thanks multiple business and individual donations, the group will serve approximately 2400 servings of Jambalaya and Pastalaya over the weekend, distribute heaters, blankets, and toys for children in North Carolina.
